If Jim Carrey wasn't cast as the Riddler in Batman Forever, could he have be!

Question:

If Jim Carrey wasn't cast as the Riddler in Batman Forever, could he have been the new Joker?

they should have cast Jim Carrey as the joker in the new batman begins movie, eventhough im not sure he even wanted the role. and they shoulda cast Robin Williams as the Riddler in Batman Forever, oh well!

Answers: No, despite his obvious acting talent, he was miscast as the Riddler and wouldn't have made a good Joker. The Joker is supposed to be sinister (evil clown) and not particularly funny. Jim is sinister in some of his movies, like Me, Myself, and Irene, but he's too funny and not evil enough. The Joker is a very tough character to cast, but I would prefer someone who is not a comedian, like Christopher Walken or Brad Dourif, who was Chucky in the Child's Play movies.. I heard a rumor last year that they were considering Robin Williams as the Joker in The Dark Knight, that would've been sweet. But I think Mark Hamil would've been the ultimate choice to play Joker. no, he is a terrific actor, but not sinister enough for the joker, the same for Robin Williams, he was turned down in favor of Ledger, so im sure that they made close to the right choice, but hes not gonna be as good as Nicholson
