I have some of like batman, some of robin, and they collect issues that have come out forming a story arc. what would those be? for the most part they mean the same thing. Often trade paperback is used to mean a collection of story arcs of a comic book series. graphic novels is sometimes used to refer to a unique storyline in one book. Both are in the comic book style.

Use lately is interchangeable. Paperbacks is like anime or japanese comics that are read backwards (not all,)

And graphic novels are the american versions usually read frontwards. Although paperbacks aren't that popular with americans, they still use it in case anyone wants to find the japanese comic book section... Origionaly Trad paper back refered to a collection of monthly comics publishe in one book as an anathology and a Graphic novel was a new stand alone story and was generaly bigger in both hight and length than a normal comic book. The term trad paper back has all but been dropped and both are now called graphic novels.
