after Light kinda confesses dat he is Kira they lock him up n keep an eye on him for 50 days.later after L's plan he was cleard n now hes handcuffd to L.wat happend to his death note and Ryuk?has his memory of da death note been washd?hes changd........hes not cold n twistd anymore.so confusd sum1plz xplain
Answers: :) I have just finished Death Note and I was a little confused too on Light's plan, at first. After replaying his plan a few more times, I understand. Before he decides to 'abandon' his notebook, he made a plan with both Rem and Ryuk. He relinquished his ownership of Misa's notebook which was given to him by Rem when Misa decides to give up ownership. Then, Light asks Rem to pass Misa's notebook to Ryuk which Light buries in the woods. This makes shinigami Ryuk the owner of Misa's notebook.
As for his own notebook (the 1st one), he gives it back to Ryuk whom he instructs to pass to Rem making Rem the new owner. Before this, he asked Ryuk to write a few fake rules in the notebook. Then, he told Rem to pass it to someone ambitious (Higuchi of the Yotsuba group). He was certain that he will eventually capture the 3rd Kira aka Higuchi but since he is no longer the owner of this notebook, he has to kill Higuchi in order to become the new owner and to keep his memory (that he will regain once he touches the notebook). He knows that the killings would start again even though he is confined and that L would have to release both Misa and himself and they would be cleared of any suspicions because of the fake rules.
Later, Light will gain a 3rd notebook courtesy of Rem when Rem was killed for extending Misa's life (due to the fact that shinigami aren't supposed to extend human's life). But he will return his own notebook (the 1st one) to Shidoh, the original shinigami owner of that notebook which was stolen by Ryuk. This is somewhat different from the live-action films because Shidoh is never mentioned and Rem burns her notebook when she dies. She realises Light's evil plan and didn't want to leave her notebook behind.
Trust the above will clear some confusion. You'll know soon enough, he reveals it ALL. When i read that part i was like "D*AMN! What a clever b*stard" this is a SPOILER!! if you dont want to know, please do not read... lol!!
well, yes basically (his memory of the death note is gone.)
when he admits hes kira and they keep him under watch for fifty days kira (light) gives his note book back to ryuk so that ryuk could give it to someone else and he could forget about it. there, the killing would continue yet he would be under complete watch. the same thing when he was handcuffed to L. he lost his memory about the book as well so that he could make 100% sure that at the time he would have nothingto do with it at all. he would BE completely clueless and "innocent" he gave his death note to... who was it... i forgot... i think it was some guy... well, yeah... he killed ppl for kira. that way kira would never be suspected since he was with L 24/7. or something like that ^^ i kinda forgot the smaller details... but thats the basis of it !!!
