do you think he should watch them? im unsure because i do not know there content, anyway the list is below

Please and thank you

Answers: The only one of those I know is Elfen Lied. It's quite good, but there's nudity and violence through out, so I'd steer away from it. The nudity isn't sexual, though. The main character isn't exactly human and walks around nude quite a lot. There's another series called Gantz which has a similar tone of nudity and violence, so if he mentions that one as well, tell him to wait until he's 18

Quickly looking up IkkiTousen, it's described as "The series is known for being full of fan service, featuring a very large cast of attractive young girls, who fight in short skirts and dresses, in addition to numerous other ecchi (sexy) situations." So it's not HARDCORE, but there might be occasional partial nudity. Imagine it like the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, which is exactly what most 16 year old boys go out and buy.

Tenjho Tenge - looking it up, it says "The CMX English version is edited to reduce the sexuality and market it with a T (Teen - 13 Yrs and older) rating, a controversial move in the eyes of many North American fans, but is now marketed with an OT (Older Teen - 16 Yrs and older)"

Ugly yet beautiful world - "this anime fits best in the moe (cute girls, romance) genre." Should be fine for him

Couldn't find an entry on Maid Service, but I don't think it's a kid friendly title

Some good series I WOULD recommend for someone his age, if he hasn't seen them yet, are Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist and Trigun. All excellent series, and good for his age group. Nothing offensive that you would object to, but they're not targeted for small children either. And if he wants something that's a little sexually charged but doesn't actually HAVE any sex or nudity in it, he should check out Tenchi Muyo!, which is about a teenage boy that has about a half dozen females living with him, ranging from alien princesses, space cops, and pirates who all have a crush on him but he can't decide between them. sorry i havent heard any of those anime...sory... I would suggest watching then yourself first. If I remember correctly, Elfen lied is an ichi (nudity but no sex). I definitely do not suggest that one, about the others I have no clues. Tenjho Tenge and Elfen Lied may be a bit too much due to the strong sexual content and violence if you feel he is not mature enough to handle it. As for the other series you mentioned, I'm sorry, but I have not seen those. Well watch the shows or look them up on the internet to find out the content of them. Don't wait for him to tell you because if their is questionable content in them. Then he won't tell you or he will probably avoid telling you. Im 17 and i know that boys especially are private and not conversational ( i have a older brother). You should have your son show you the websites for these various anime pieces. From a very brief search online I see the one titled "Maid Service" seems very pornographic. If your son will show you the websites I think you'll have enough information to make an educated decision. Being a parent is tough...Good luck! sorry dn't know these animes Elfen Lied - Not OK - it's not the violence or nudity that bothers me, but there is a scene that includes/suggests child rape, something a 16yo shouldn't be exposed to.
------------------------------...
tenjho tenge - OK
------------------------------...
Maid Service - Not OK - Explicit sexual content.
------------------------------...
Ikkitousen - Depends on how mature he is, but I would consider it as OK

This ugly yet beautiful world - I don't know, I looked it up and it seems decent, but really don't know... Typical 16 year old.
Maid Service is XXX hentai (porn) so you might not want him to watch it. I think I might buy it myself though ;-)
Elfen Lied is quite violent but also an emotional character led story.

I know most teens go through that "black" phase (he hasn't painted his walls yet has he?) but I think it would be good for him to expand his tastes and watch lighter, more upbeat shows and movies too. Kiki's Delivery Service and Princess Mononoke are essential viewing for true anime connoisseurs.

I'm 36 years old and while I would once have been content to watch endless explosions and fights, I now find myself addicted to much gentler shows like Ah! My Goddess, Karin, Otome Wa Boku Ni Koishiteru and Sister Princess (though they all contain more than a little ecchi content in some episodes). im 13.. i really like elfen lied, just not the parts with nudity. ive nver really watched any of the other ones though.
