What key is the song Donna Lee in-(By charlie parker)?
I have learned the lead of the song by ear, but I cant figure out what scale it is in. Thus what key it is in and so I cant do any improv over top of it.
Also any suggestions about how to improv over it.

thanks man. It is A flat major. He uses the locrian scale which I am not all that familiar with. Good call on that.

A flat major I believe. Try using bebop scales, or see if you can get a hold of some Charlie Parker transcriptions and look at them.
