Why would an animal suddenly become possessive and clingly to their owner?
Especially if the animal was never like this before....the change was pretty sudden.

dogs are very suceptible to separation anxiety if they are close to one person and have no other companion, but that's a learned behavior. if you greet the pet excitedly on your arrival, that makes the next parting more difficult. i could go on, but look up separation anxiety in any pet section and train YOURSELF to train your pet and break this habit. it can become frustrating and damage your relationship with your pet.
