Are we judged by the company we keep?!

Are we judged by the company we keep?

Or not keep?... i mean is it really about who we know or don't know?

I like to judge a man, or woman on their character/ personality as a human being... what about you?

You know my grandmother always told me that you can judge a man on the company he CHOOSES to keep..... i never ever used to agree with this.......until recently...... over the last few years as i got older......

If i am not a racist man yet i choose to spend time with people that are racist and hurt others that i do not want to hurt then does this not make me some kind of hypocrite?, how could i tell for instance my mix race child that i have racist friends?.....
what would this make me?......

if i do not agree with hitting women yet i spend to choose my time with a man that beats women... what is this saying ?... is it not in some kind of way excusing or indirectly encouraging the behaviour by not condemning it ?...would you choose to keep a dog that bit people?...

if i walk down the street and mind my own business yet the company i keep are busy shouting homophobic abuse at people that we may walk by does this not reflect on me?... am i not wrong to condemn this?.....

if i am non of these things,a woman beater, a homophobe, a racist etc then why would i choose to spend my time with them unless a part of me thought it was OK..... i do not like people like this, i would surely be a hypocrite if i did..... i will not choose to spend my time with people that display behaviour that i do not agree with,

if i am part of a group of men that beat a child or a dog in the street i am exactly that....part of that group...... i choose to walk away.......

My grandmother was right........
