When was the last time you lost something valuable?

Gosh, almost 30 years ago. I lost a diamond/emerald ring, that my mom and dad gave my for my birthday. My mom told me not to wear it ... it was too big, and it slipped off my finger w/o me feeling it. My mom knew how much it meant to me. *sob*
A year ago, my mom and dad gave me the exact same ring for my birthday ... I cried. :)
