If you believe this, my dog does, he just told he's out of food.
Answers:
The damn cat rules my house.... I'm more of a dog person... but I like big dogs, and I would never let a big dog rule the house... they are pack animals and they need an alpha leader... otherwise they take over and big problems can occur! Having said that, though, there are some very big gentle dogs that are so docile, it seems they could never seem dominant, but it's likely the result of their upbringing, whereby they did or do have an alpha leader.... anyway... I'm no expert, just expressing my thoughts.... give your pooch a hug for me!
