Internet Radio Royalties?!

Question:

Internet Radio Royalties?

As many of you know, radio broadcasters (am and fm stations) do not have to pay royalties for the music they play. However, I am wondering if they have to pay royalties for music that their station streams over the internet.

Any help would be great.

Answers:

There is a license fee to be in broadcasting any one music, bars even have to pay for that... where on earth do you get that stations don't pay roayaties...
I have worked in radio for over 7 years in every department had to search radio is a public service with it's broadcasting and everything has to be payed for by someone mainly the large corperations. but i will say they are fairly cheap considering the ratio of music they play!
