Help please! Who is the new female singer I'm thinking of?!

She's a black, young, thin, woman with a kind of messy afro!. I think she's a new artist and in the music video there are shots of poor african children and in the chorus she kind of shouts vowels e-e-e-e-e i-i-i- a-, something like that, but it's not stupid, it has a really original sound to it!.
Any thoughts!?
