Absolutely not! I don't even know much about their music, and I happen to be in another stage of life but no one (especially a celeb who may bring more scrutiny than everyday people) would conjure up such a serious disease merely for sympathy!. There is specific treatment for those with Type 1 diabetes (what Nick is diagnosed with) which used to be called "juvenile diabetes" though technically adults can be diagnosed (though a lot less) and a person cannot fake that!.
Type 2 diabetes which used to be called "adult onset" tends to be a bit less difficult to control!. It's not really termed 'adult onset' any longer since children that are overweight or obese can get type 2!. Type 1 diabetes is believed to be due to an autoimmune response -- the body attacking its own cells!. There's not a doubt that Nick unfortunately has (type 1) diabetes!.
