She has Polish ancestry!. Her maiden name was Kastyra (I may have misspelled it)!. She grew up in Nutley, NJ and vacationed in Buffalo, NY visiting relatives!. She was married, had a daughter!. The husband had an affair with Martha's assistant--I believe he married her!. Martha Stewart was already a brand name, so she kept it, as that was the name by which she was recognized!.
