Question: What do you think about Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker in particular!?
I think that he's a great actor!.
But in The Dark Night, he didn't really come off to me as the Joker!. I've read my fair share of comic books, I personally expected the Joker to be a bit more lively (no pun intended), and maybe a bit more funny!? He's supposed to be a clown after all!.!.!.
But again, good actor!. Just wanted to hear other thoughts!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

He couldn't have done it like Jack Nicholson, if that's what you mean!. It would have been foolish to try and copy his performance!.
Heath's Joker wasn't supposed to be like the comic book one!. Tim Burton's Batman was shot and acted just like the comics, and it didn't play out too well on film!.
I think Christopher Nolan (along with all the actors) wanted to make this film apart from the comic book, thus, making it more realistic!. Heath's character was so scary and sadisticly funny because he was real!.

Well, in The Dark Knight Heath Ledger played a brilliant Joker!. I mean yeah the joker is supposed to be funny or lively but I think he was pretty funny in the movie!. The only difference was that his humor was 'dark'!. I can give you two examples on spot: 1!. His stories about the cuts!. He was obviously lying when he told different stories about his father and his wife! 2!. How he switched the addresses he gave Batman to save Harvey and Rachel!.
He also had the "Wanna see a magic trick!?" and Here's my card - and he pulls out a joker playing card!
I think the Joker that Heath played was supposed to be strange and had a dark sense of humor rather than a lively one!.
