they didn't steal it, they remadeit!. tons of bands do it!. it was for a movie too, they dind't really sell it as their own!. they also did we're the kids of the future (a remake of we're the kids of america)!. both those songs were for the Disney movie Meet the Robinsons!. They also remade songs from the little mermaid, the jungle book, and a few other Disney movies!. They dress them, teach them how to act onstage and offstage, tell them what to say, teach them how to lip sync, how to pretend like they know how to actually play an instrument, get a backup group to play their songs, producers to redub the tracks, writers to write the lyrics {if the songs are not cover versions}
Disney churns these kids out one right after the other--- next year they will have another "boy band" that will take their place and the Jonas Brothers will be doing gigs at the rehab clinic
