A lot of Americans are obvlsy very obessed with celebrities and very materialistic, whens the last time you've heard a little kid say they wanted to be a doctor when they grow up!? its more like i wanna be just like Miley Cyrus, or famous or whatever, then i went to Canada with my friend just for fun and i noticed how if i wanted to avoid seeing a celeb in the news or on tv that it was easy cause it wasnt there! the country just seemd so much more in contact with its self then celebrities,!. My friends and i are 13 and we want to be, doctors, teachers, meren biologists (sorry can't spell), me personally i want to grow up and become a preschool teacher! I love little kids! I think its more the big cities who have the kids that want to be famous!.!.!.!. i live in the city where the Gym Class Heros were made!. And there are some authors that are well know from Geneva (i can't say they are "famous")Www@Enter-QA@Com

LOL Yeah I agree with you!. But I don't think all Hollywood/American movies suck!. If you notice, most of the movies that were being nominated or won were mostly the ones that didn't make the BO list, so I don't think we can blame USA entirely for it!.
When it comes to movie INDUSTRY, money and profit is always involved!. I'm sure there are plenty American movie makers who really concern on doing good high-quality movies, but for the most part, the major movie companies only care about one thing: MONEY! So they only wanna make movies that are a sure bet box-office gold!. Well!.!.!. blame it on the laymen, but sometimes those companies tend to make "low" quality movies because of the audience!. Let's face it, NOT all can appreciate the beauty and depth of movies like The English Patient, American Beauty, No Country for Old Men, The Thin Red Line, The Aviator, The Constant Gardener, Into the Wild, Million Dollar Baby, Mystic River, LA Confidential etc!. Most laymen want ENTERTAINMENT!. They don't care if the movie is bad/good, they just want to be ENTERTAINED!. They don't wanna see boring dramas with complex storyline, they probably just expect the adrenaline or humor that comes along!. They don't wanna see unattractive stars with amazing acting skill, they just wanna see goodlooking actors with faces and bodies they can swoon over for days, heck who cares if they can act or not - "as long as you're hot, then you're good in my book!" So many times those movie companies produce movies that aren't exactly good in quality but they don't care, they only see the gold at the end of the rainbow that the movies can bring!. They're probably aware of the lack of quality of their movies but like I said, they're only after the profit so it doesn't matter how many negative reviews they may receive from the critics, as long as they can hear "ka-ching!" in the theater line!.
So!.!.!. can you really blame Hollywood for this!? Hmm!.!.!. maybe yes and maybe don't!. I do admit that Hollywood produce a lot of crappy movies lately, but remember, nothing is produced when there's no DEMAND!. Those movie companies make those kind of movies coz sadly, many people like and are entertained by those low quality movies/actors!. And those Hollywood movie makers just wanna provide their audience with what they wanna see no matter how sucks it is!. *sigh* Besides, I'm sure there are a lot of crappy movie companies in this world who also have their share of crappy movies, not just in Hollywood!. Hollywood is unfortunately the most famous movie industry in the world, thus every mistake it makes is being magnified by the media and society!.
