First, don't believe EVERYTHING you hear or see!.!. why!? because it can easily be justified because none of us were in the scene when it happened, so no one actually knows!. Second, Paul McCartney is a very iconic and famous person (Being one of the great Beatles, of course) people can get jealous or just plain want to mess with famous and powerful people especially those who do not support his/her vision to everything!. Third, If it were true (most likely no), what can we do!? I know it's very unfair for me to think like this and I'm not saying we should ignore everything and be completely ignorant, what I'm saying is what can we do!? Take him out of our memories!? Kill him!? Destroying what he has!? None of these things can HELP us feel better about Paul!. Fourth, two words!.!. ROCK STAR! Rock stars want to have fun and are usually rebellous (Well, those who are real rockers like Led Zeppelin, Sex Pistols, The Who, and I could go on) May I remind you that Sex, Drugs, and Rock n' Roll is the "theme" of rock stars!. Plus controversy is always at a nearby corner of rockers, perfect example is John Lennon's works and words (Although I do think he is inspirational and the greatest song writers of ALL TIME) especially the "Bigger than Jesus" issue!.
People in general (Be you a rocker, actor/actress, doctor, president), can make mistakes and to think during the heat of the moment is very difficult, so we have to understand!.
No man is a god!.
And to answer your question!.!. Paul McCartney is GREAT!
(yet I say John Lennon is GREATER :) no offence to you though I think Paul is great as well, it's just a matter of opinion!. Hated him for some long time though because of the stupid feedback after John Lennon's death!.!. "A drag isn't it!?" GOD! if you reasearch some you'll find that a very good amout of super talented and amzing artist/musicians were some what like this!.
