Question: Why are so many Americans blind to matters of real importance!?
Instead we'd rather be entertained, debate the personalities and appearance of our policians rather than their issues and perspectives!. Why do we care more about whether Britney Spears is wearing underwear, Brad and Angelina have pissed off Jennifer Aniston, and whether Kelly Clarkson is fat!? Honestly, are we as a culture so stupid and self-absorbed that we are letting our country get away from us!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

I don't think it is a matter of being stupid or self absorbed as much as we are not exposed to the issues that are of importance!. If every time you turn on the TV or radio, or even the news paper it is about which celebrity is doing what and who then yea you follow what you are being informed about!. The media the source of our information is designed in such a way to keep us uninformed and uneducated about what is going on in the world, in the country and in the things that are vital to our well being as humans and Americans!. Our country is getting away from us because many have been lead to believe that they have no power and no voice!. That we do not matter as individuals!. There is a lot of information out to be found, if we really wanted to fine it, but lets be real when you have to have two and some times three jobs just to make it here, do you really have the time to find out the truth!? What they do affects us all, weather we would like to believe it or not, it affects our kids, our jobs, our homes and for the people that think it doesn't wake and smell the real world!!
I think it is also easier to be entertained than to face the truth of the world, so that is why we sit there eating up every thing about celebs that we can find!. Me personally I could care less about who is doing what or where unless it is about some one that shapes my life, environment and survival!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think that Americans today are infected with escapism!. We go to work or school, and deal with all the drama there, then come home and deal with economic, social, or emotional issues!. The people of this country would rather run from their problems than try to figure out the cause of them!. Finding flaws in politicians and celebrities points to the insecurity and competitiveness that has been ingrained into our culture!. Society has taught us to worship the "perfect" celebrities such as Brad and Angelina, so we do!. When we see our "role models" make a mistake, it gives us a sense of accomplishment, a boost after a ho-hum day!. Matters of real importance (The Iraq War, the environment) only remind us of all the problems that we constantly have to face!. So, unfortunately, if looking at Kelly Clarkson's supposed "fat rolls" gives us comfort, then that's what we're going to do!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
most people in our country havent been exposed to or have heard about anything other than their three door garages and swimming pools!. Most people dont think about the other two thirds of the world who are in need simply because they arent in need!. It doesnt cross their minds!. Its sad but so true!.
