Personally, I do not think at all that her father is the only reason why she is popular! He was never that popular back in his day, and Miley Cyrus's fans weren't even alive back then even if he was all that popular! And if anything, he's using his daughter to regain HIS career that never was! But don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of Miley's!

Short Version: No, she's popular because of herself!. Disney didn't even want to give her the part at first, but she was persistant and they changed their minds!.
She was slowly beginning to inch over the line, but she caught herself and seems to have taken a step back!. I think her parents are raising her right!. She's only human, she's going to make mistakes!. At least she isn't pregnant!.
I think she's talented, but has a lot of untapped potential that she could exhibit if she were to only perform as herself and not Hannah Montana!. (My sister says that if she keeps doing that, she's going to wind up schizophrenic!.)

honestly miley is famous for her talent and nothing else!. Sure her dad might take a toll on it, but i dont believe that!. Miley is a singer and/or actress!. Her fans are mostly of young girls ages 6-14!. Miley is also famous for her great fashion sense!. Billy ray cyrus was famous many many years ago for his country music, and sure he isn't bad!. He isn't living his career through her thought!. Miley stands on her own!. As it may seem that i am a miley fan, and yeah i guess you could say i am but i dont approve of the things she has done!. About the pictures, miley claims to say that she didn't know it was going on!. That was a bunch of bull ****!. who doesn't know when their shirt is off!? I think she would have never had a career if it weren't for her Dad!. Alot of people liked her Dad even though his career could only go so far!.
