It was a sad day because it wasn't just one rock legend that died, there were three and the pilot!. Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and Jiles Perry (J!.P!.) Richardson (aka: The Big Bopper)!. The pilot's name is Roger Peterson!.

Of the three musicians, only Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens have had enough fame after their death to be remembered by following generations!. I had contacted the son of JP Richardson a couple of years ago about having a movie made of his father, and his reply was that he performs his father's music and doesn't want others to misinterpret the kind of man his father was with a movie!.

JP Richardson is from Texas, where I live, and I know all of his songs!. I think everyone should listen to his music!.

Don McLean's song American Pie is definitly a wonder masterpiece!. Right now I have the words going through my head!.

If Waylon Jennings had not given his seat to JP Richardson, he would have been the third musician!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

American Pie refers to "The day the music died" which was February 3, 1959 when a plane crash killed Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J!.P!. "The Big Bopper" Richardson!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
