Why do people like Miley Cyrus so much?!
Question: Are you kidding me? Is this the kid whose concerts sell out in less than 8 seconds and has her own TV show? The one that some kid recently wrote a BS essay to win tickets to see? Tickets, I might add, that are worth thousands of dollars after selling out? I couldn't believe my ears!!! How could someone so talentless be so popular? She made Hanson and the Spice Girls look good! Can someone please tell me what is going on?

People like Miley Cyrus because she is also Hannah Montana. Hannah Montana is fueled by Disney. Disney has a history of 'magical family entertainment' so parents feel safe when their kids are watching the Disney Channel. Since Hannah Montana is on the Disney Channel, parents are okay with their children watching the show and since the show is actually funny, kids like to watch it. Her songs are part of the popular genre (pop) and she is considered a teen idol. Thus grabbing the attention of the preteen/teen audience. Not to mention that she has the reputation of being part of Disney, so parents would be fine with buying tickets to Miley's concert for their child thinking it is better than them going out and getting into trouble.
Oh...Correct me if I'm wrong...but as everyone says...Her father being Billy Ray Cyrus also plays a part of her success. But if you really think about it, she isn't attracting the same crowd as her father. So in reality...him being her father does help but not as much as people say it does. I truly believe Disney has more weight on her popularity.
But on a note on the side....I don't think she is horrible at singing because she isn't...but i do believe she would be 10 times better as a country singer rather than a pop singer.

I think you should have caught on to what is happening and will always happen. It seems to me that this happens every year. It is not always a person like Paris, or Britney. It can also be things like Furby or iPod.
America gets a craving and they will eat it for a couple years and then never want to see or hear of it again. Soon it will be almost forgotten like the Pet Rock or Members Only jackets.
she appeals to the masses right now. every so often a "star" comes along that is uberpopular. it happens every 5 yrs or so. from the time i can remember there was like tiffany, debbie gibson, britney spears, raven symone, now miley cyrus. and unfortunately bc im a mom of a 5 yr old who idolizes her, she has made a ton of money off of me. but im sure it will be over for her in a few yrs. not that im wishing that on her but her im sure it'll happen
well 8 year olds like her! she can't sing, and she can't ACT!! THE ONLY REASON SHE FAMOUS IS BECAUSE OF HER DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but hey we ALL have our opinion
