Marilyn Monroe's white dress from the "Seven Year Itch", where is !

Question: Does anyone know what ever became of the iconic dress Marilyn Monroe wore in the movie, "The Seven Year Itch"? This is the white dress she is wearing while standing on the subway grate in New York City, with the dress billowing up around her. It is one of the most famous dresses in the world, and yet, I can't find much about the original online. Is it privately owned? Was it auctioned as part of her estate sale? Do the Holywood Studios still own it? Is it lost? I hear there are several copies of the dress floating around, but I am interested in the whereabouts of the original.

Details are sketchy, but it appears as if the original is owned by actress Debbie Reynolds. After Reynolds bought the dress other people have tried to auction off replicas or fakes, and it is always referenced that Debbie has the original dress (and many others) in her private collection.

Bill Clinton came all over it.

I'm wearing it and you can't have it!

Would you settle for the uniform that she wore when she won the first Super Bowl?

What about the hat that her maid wore that day?

Sorry - don't know where it is.

You're on the net... search it.

A few years back it has been reported that it,s been taken from the museum where it was on display. I don,t know which part of the States though. But thank God it,s been found. I do not know who owns the dress now. It,s probably belong to a private owner or to Marilyn,.s estate. Or perhaps it,s still belongs to Twentieth Century Fox.
