My best guess...she seems "reachable". Most females consider themselves too everyday to be famous...most guys think they are too everyday to date anyone who's famous.
Miley Cyrus's TV personality is almost modeled to say "I'm normal, I'm not hard to talk to or date...yet I am famous". She made to have this overly upbeat, agreeable personality which says "don't you wish your friend/girlfriend was this upbeat"...as if she didn't have any real bad moods or problems in life and/or problems with any other people.
Hillary Duff was modeled in the same fashion when you think about it.
But, when you think about it, Britney Spears started out as this innocent, hopelessly happy/upbeat girl on the Mickey Mouse club and turned into a complete self-absorbed slut. And now that Miley is starting to dress a bit like Sailor Moon I wouldn't be surprised if she turned in the same direction and still tried to carry on the image "I'm still innocent, and myself and all my fans are still good friends" while she was doing things like randomly getting laid by fans and backup dancers (erm...the next Kevin Federline perhaps)...

Because she is young and vaguely talented so preteens like her for that. My son is 12 and has lots of friends are huge fans, she is appealing to them since she is their own age and is portrayed in a good light by the media (I can't claim to know for sure if shes as good as they seem to think) but that makes her seem more like someone that they would wanna hang out with, if that makes any sense. Plus every generation has the people that they are completely obsessed with, they are passing fads that happen when you are in about middle school, for my generation it was like Boyz 2 Men and TLC, the early 90's were bad. But she is just another one of those fad bands that everyone of a certain age loves, if you aren't a fan don't worry she will pass and you'll just be stuck hearing about hers and the Jonas brothers reunion tours in about fifteen years (can anyone say Spice girls and New Kid on the block).

Each pop idol that comes along, eventually has major issues befall them, ie Brittney Spears. Youth are looking for more appropriate idols to replace those that fall.
idk. she just came out of nowhere and all of a sudden she's everywhere. Her show isn't funny. the jokes are cheesy. she's a slvt. She's bratty. She isn't a good actor. She's not a good singer. She's not original or have anything about her that is. She's spoiled. She's only famous cuz of her dad.
People say she's "down to earth", but how can they know that? That's just who she plays on her show.
Honstely, i miss the days when people worked hard to become famous, and actually had talent.
