What do you think about Twiggy making the very skinny look in?!

Question: Do you think that the skinny look in modeling has gone overboard?

Answers: Do you think that the skinny look in modeling has gone overboard?

The "Thin Is In" -"Twiggy" look didn't really last long.
Her hairstyle and makeup and the clothes she modeled were a bit too extreme for everyday life.
Ali MacGraw hit the front pages of major fashion magazines and Twiggy wasn't seen or heard of very much, after that.

I am glad to see that some of the top modeling agencies and designers are taking steps to insure the health and well-being of their models, by requiring them to gain weight and to seek professional help for eating disorders.
Several companies have taken the initiative, by restructuring their clothing lines to promote these measures.

yes, that skinny is gross.

Depends how skinny...more details please?

I think for some models its true but for victoria secret and sports illustrated they aren't as skinny sometimes but yes I think they haven't gotten to skinny its really the image the media paints that if you don't look like this you aren't beautiful.

I am sure she is not the first super skinny model to ever take a stroll down the cat walk. I am, also, sure that she did not single-handedly start the whole look. :) People are just naturally built the way they are, sometimes.

I think it is unfortunate that people feel that they HAVE to be skinny to be pretty. I think a lot of people play into this one idea of "perfection". If you spent hours in hair, makeup, etc, you would look like "they" do, too.
