The main reason we are considered different is probably the imagery and 'emo' crap My Chemical Romance have got from people who don't know them well enough to make a right judgement.
But to me, the fact that we are people who want to live because of the inspiration My Chemical Romance has given us through their music makes us different, I guess we're unafraid to be ourselves and listen to their music even if other people are unable to understand it from the outside. Lots of people only see the surface of what is My Chemical Romance and judge it from that, such as 'the black parade' or 'vampires will never hurt you' when really we know that things like that are only themes and metaphors that reflect on what life can be like in reality.
I think that makes us pretty special.
Different in that we don't just follow the crowd and listen to T-Pain and Souljah Boy. That's something I don't mind, I'd rather be different than be a sheep. That's what makes us the quote 'best ******* fans in the world' as Gerard and Frank [and i'm sure all the others] have said numerously. xD
We have learned to respect people from the influence of My Chemical Romance. They're great role-models and we've realised that musically and through the way the guys live their lives. And that's what make us different. Because. We Understand. =]

I dunno...I suppose we are different from some other fans for different bands because we're more loyal than anyone else. I'm not sure though, I'm just proud to be a fan!
I don't really understand why.
Here in Ireland most people my age (14+) are into rave and rap music, and there are only very few people who listen to MCR so we're considered "different" and apparently being different makes us bad people, so therefore our lives should be made into a living hell!
Im not sure.. probably the majority of teenagers like rap and pop and stuff like that.
I think it's just something that brings us all together, but really I've just heard a lot of other bands that i can't connect with and mcr is so different. they have saved so many people's lives. Mcr has made me a better person and if it weren't for them, a lot of people -including myself- probably wouldn't be here. When you see how Gerard used to get wasted and abuse prescription drugs, and how he's changed, it makes you want to be a good person. also, mcr treats their fans with so much respect. I've never seen that with any other band.
Because we've all got good taste in music and we seem to have this special connection or bond between us! :)
