Why does paula abdul say such dumb comments?!

Well, I think a lot of it can be attributed to the prescription meds she's obviously on, but I think she's also just trying to soften the inevitable blow that's going to come from Simon, since she has to go right before him with her comment.

She's trying not to be mean, because Simon is. She has to think of something nice to say, even though most of the time it doesn't make sense and has nothing to do with the singing!

HA, because she wants to seem like the nice one of the bunch. Guess she wants to be televised.

Paula says she is suffering from a rare neurological disorder and does not have a drug problem. Abdul, 42, says she has been battling chronic pain that began after a cheerleading accident at age 17 left her with an injured disc in her neck.

The pain got worse after "a couple of car accidents" in the 1980s and a plane crash in 1992, which led to seizures, bulimia and depression, she says. In search of relief, Abdul had 12 operations and used medications she says left her so "loopy" that she chose to live with the pain.
