Why is my friend suddenly listening to death metal?!
Question: i have a friend who used to listen (and i think still does) to artists like vanessa carlton and five for fighting. suddenly she listens to bands like as i lay dying and really heavy metal. is this normal?

Maybe she likes someone who listens to music like that. Or maybe one day she just heard it and thought "this music is good"
shes prob goin through a fase.
Well I don't know how normal it is, but I know people, including myself who have done the same thing.
Maybe now that she's opened up the door to the metal world she really likes it and wants more of it.
okay as i lay dying sucks well for me anyways maybe shes trying to impress someone and if thats the case then blah shes stupid but if she likes it then she likes it i love metal but f*cking heavy a** metal.
My friends had the opposite with me. I loved metal & hard rock & the I started to get into classical music. Sometimes you just have to go where the music leads.
well, i used to only like heavy metal, but then i listened to some more current(not so 80s hair metal lol) music and loved it!! maybe she just found a new kind of music that she likes!!! :)
I think that your friend is going threw a stage that will last a while... unfortunatly this is a deadly desise that will afect 1/23423 people a year. I am so sorry... I wish I could help further :(
