Her real name(before) was Destiny Hope Cyrus. She was called miley because her dad said this she was always smiling so they called her smiley but shortened it to miley. i saw and heard this on tv.
she changed it in honor of her dad. and i dont think its stupid that she did that well if u were a pop sensation and your dad wrote all your songs and supported u most out the family wouldnt u change ur middle to ur dad that has helped u all ur life
everyone knows her by Miley. she didn't want to be destiney anymore no one reffered to her as destiney so she changed it i thought it was a horrible mistake. i actually think changing your name is a horrible idea unless your name is that horrible. your parents gave you a name changing is it is like saying that they made a horrible desicion i like destiney
