Why is Robert Neville immune in I Am Legend?!

Robert Neville is immune much the same way that some bacteria are immune to antibiotics, or how some people are immune to malaria. Neville is not the only immune human though, according to the movie, 1%, or around 12 million people on Earth are also immune to the virus. Most of the immune humans were killed by mutants though, and three years later, Neville believes that he is the only one left.
Probably, since few others are immune as well, it's something in the DNA.

I think he said it was just because of his genetics.
It's not that he was immune.. because he wasn't. He was testing out different antidotes and such. But he just always went in his house and covered his tracks before dark. :)
