I have to admit that, after seeing her give multiple interviews where she seemed so mature and upbeat, I didn't see the situation with Lohan coming. I thought she was original, a breath of fresh air. Because of that, I find the whole situation alarming and upsetting.

I hadn't heard that Britney's life was all that bad. I know that she has spun out of control, but I've never heard that she had any particular difficulty while growing up. I do honestly feel bad for her; there's something very serious happening here. I think people thought she was just going thru some "bad girl" phase, or was just being immature, et al. I think they know something's up now. I mean, I don't think anyone's laughing anymore.
