not that surprising. nearly every musician has used drugs at some time. some of our greatest legends were very heavily into drugs and it was known and acknowledged at the time, not just after death.

it's really not that rare, so i don't know why people are so shocked by it. even justin timberlake has admitted to taking drugs and timbaland, dr. dre, and other big names in the industry are currently being investigated for steroid use. to me, this is a story that really isn't much of a story, which is why only natalie cole (a former druggie) made a big deal of it.
