I think they're still friends.
It's just that Nicole Ritchie is a mom now, so she can't go out partying with Paris all the time like she used to. So, that's why Paris is looking for someone new to hang out with. (She's literally looking for a new friend! I heard she might have a new show on MTV that's basically her search for a new best bud.)
