Question: someone said that because of my hair and my clothes. i don't know if its a compliment. then they said i was really exotic looking, deep, different than most 21 year olds. i seemed to care about all people, and was cute, and wiser than my years. so i am wondering. the whole being compared to hendrix and prince in clothing style, is that good? should i take it as a compliment?

I wouldn't take flattery or criticism personally. If you keep paying attention to what other people think about you, you'll be like a leaf blown around by the wind. And you can't just become attached to flattery and ignore the criticisms, you need to ignore both to stop being upset from what could be a criticism.
Dont feel bad for what may have been a criticism, just don't react to either the good or the bad. People are socially conditioned to approve or disapprove against a background of their agreements with society's values, such as whether Jimmi Hendrix or Prince is "in" or not. They're minds are really vacant and empty having no center of individuality, an individuality that you evidently have.

It probably means that you look rock and roll. That you don't look like a typical slutty young adult! I'd take that as a compliment. Do you have your own dress style, or do you just try to imitate what's in a magazine (you do find good stuff in fashion - the problem is when everybody wear exactly the same thing).
i would take it as a compliment (cute and wiser ) those sound good but im not sure about the jimi hendrix and prince part????
