How/Why is Paula a judge on Idol?. If she can get it out, she can't complete!

why is she a judge? in the 80s she was a cheerleader for a nba team or something and danced with a cat in a stupid music video. she can't sing...so why is she judging other people on it?
and thats another thing--she only says nice things about everyone!

she knows music but most of the time she is drunk or high or something she isn't all the time that's why Simon is always keeping her in her seat
I've often wonder that, but I recall that she was a wild hit in the eighties and I think she was Janet Jackson's dance choreographer or something like that...
Though she has been out for quite a while, she does know some things to singing, but as we can see, not very much. She is quite a nutball and very unstable emotionally. She has no idea what she is talking about half the time she is on there and supports those with no talent. If all three judges were like Chef Ramsey or Simon Cowell, this would BE a competition.
she got the job the same way any of these celeb judges on reality shows get it. she at one time was very successful and popular. she faded into obscurity and was willing to take any job. same with randy jackson (i didn't even know who he was pre-idol), the hoff, brandy norwood, mario lopez, and drew lachey. all of them were once a-list and at the top of their game. they slid down to b or c-list and need work. you will never see brad pitt as the host of a reality show or any other current a-lister unless they hit hard times. they may guest judge, but that's about it. remember when jlo was a guest last year on idol? uhhhh, when's the last time she had a successful US album? she used to be hot shlt, now no one cares so she does stupid stuff like idol and creating a dance show on mtv.
