Is our society becoming too superficial and obsessed with celebrities? Should ce!

Question: from the eating disorders, to the low self esteems, to the trends, to the celebs who have kids out of wedlock, smoke, drink, use drugs, and get DIU's...to the stalkers with the cameras, to the plastic surgery, etc.
it seems like way too many people are destructed, but all of this materialism...have this car, this clothes, this house, this home, etc. its a lot...
none of these celebrities are role models to me...

I state the same thing in a different way: Is society not becoming deep enough to solve for human problems. The problem is not that it is materialistic, but that it is ONLY materialistic. Safety needs are satisfied materialistically rather than socially because fear negates positive sociability; it is founded on distrust and mistrust. Such people want to prove that any trust based on faith of idealism is mistrust and shall lead to betrayal and the sad part is some frauds love to induce this faithlessness to recruit, breaking the faith between others and then leading the deceived into their pact.

Do we NEED role models, or do we need vacant positions for roles we may become. At about age12 the concept for competency comes into being, the value is independent thought. We need honest courageous heroes that these young ones would be, could be and ought to be.

  • yes, but too...um...uneducated people, celebrities ARE role models because they can't tell up from down. Celebrities endorse products, and those who are obsessed with them buy them. And paparatzi make TONS of money of photos of them BECAUSE every1 else is obsessed. sad, isn't it?

The sad part of your question is that in many cases they are a reflection of our society.
