Me too. Some Elvis songs are good, other songs like Suspicous Minds are great.
As to him being 'the king,' I say no. Elvis refused that title himself. In Jet magazine 1957, he risked his career by telling how much he loved black music performers.
On original vinyl albums, songwriter credits go to Little Richard Penniman, Ivory Joe Hunter, Otis Blackwell, and the genius Ray Charles. The accusations against Elvis are false.
He didn't really make black music acceptable. It already was. Dooley Wilson(As Time Goes By from Casablanca), Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Richard, Ray Charles, the Platters, the Shirelles and several Motown artists did that themselves.
What Elvis did accomplish was that he made really good songs that I and a lot of people enjoy.

Nothing to be ashamed about.He made some great music.Elvis Presley is probably the most well known name in music,maybe in the world.I would guess 95 percent of anyone who has turned on a radio has heard his music.Thats alot of people!The King,a true music Legend!
What's to be ashamed of? I'm 15, and Elvis has always been my favorite. He's an icon, I don't think there's a person alive who hasn't at least heard of his name before. And for being dead for 30 years now, that's really impressive.
