What inspirational Black famous person do you look up to & why (Relevant to Blac!

Question: Martin Luther King Jr. most definitely. If it weren't for him, we'd still be living in a segregated America.

Also Rosa Parks. It took some courage to stand up for herself back then.

AND (it may sound a bit cheesy) but i think Oprah Winfrey is inspirational. She's a billionaire but still finds time to share the blessings. Need i remind you people of the car giveaway, and the girls' school in south africa?

Anne Moody: read "Coming of Age in Mississippi"

As in historical? Madame CJ Walker
As in today's media? Hmmm...there's so many lol.
Maybe Rihanna?

martin luther king because he believed in equality and that every single human deserves to be treated like the rest of the world, no matter the skin color. his dream was one worth fighting for!

Rosa Parks because she refused to give up her seat on the bus.

Bill Cosby because he is the funniest and coolest person of color ever--think big Fat Albert, his brother Russell, and he is not afraid to tell it like it is!

There are several I could name. Benjamin Banneker, a slave who helped complete the design of Washington,D.C.; George Washington Carver, the well-known botanist and university professor; Frederick Douglass, the ex-slave-turned-abolitionist; Elijah McCoy, the inventor of a self-lubricating pump for steam locomotives (this pump was the inspiration for the expression "the real McCoy".); Dr. Charles Drew, who devised a method for separating whole blood into red cells, white cells, and plasma. Ironically, Dr. Drew died after an automobile wreck, when the nearest hospital, for whites only, would not admit him. There is also Sojourner Truth, an ex-slave who could be called Frederick Douglass' female counterpart. There are many other Black people I could list, among them Martin Luther King, Jr., and Rosa Parks.

Cicely Tyson-she played Harriet Tubman & Rosa Parks, both very important black ladies.I believe she played the roles like she was really them.Made you feel what they were feeling.
