I think everyone is entitled to their opinion, but sometimes you should keep them to yourself 'cause it can get you in trouble, because fans might not agree with what he or she is saying.

it's all just wind and sails

They hate them.

Celeb's don't think. Their opinion is automatically void.

i think they're rad.

I could care less what they think... they are just like every other person that speaks out against the war...

I pay no attention to them or their babble.

meh

we laugh when our celebrities think that we care what they think, they are fake and their job is to amuse us.

Most average everyday working class Americans absolutely don't give a fukc what celebrities political beliefs are or what they think in general. However, stupid teenagers and dumb college chicks follow every move some dumb bicth celebrity makes.

I think they need to shut up...anyone who cares what a celebrity thinks just because they are a celebrity has serious problems. And any celebrity who actually thinks anyone gives a hoot what they think are equally deranged.

here in America we worship money there for a person with a lot of it aka celebrity is given almost political status. and to answer your question depends on the narcissistic American you are talking to.

Personally, I think it's great that they have the guts and the freedom to speak their minds. That's the true American spirit. I don't think they should have been scorned by the public for disagreeing with the government, that was a little over the top. Many people think the same way, they just happen to say it front of thousands of people at once.

I'm of two minds about it. They're citizens and have a right to their opinions. However, they probably should be a little lower profile because a) if you hate them, you might turn against their candidate; or b) be swayed by them for the wrong reasons. If I were a celebrity and I liked a certain politician, I'd contribute to his or her campaign - yes, that would be publicized, but it's not the same as having the politician on my TV show.

On the other hand, if I felt passionately about an issue that one candidate was supporting, I might be compelled to speak out about it.

Jane Fonda got very involved in Vietnam and then, when one place refused to show her latest movie, she goes on Barbara Walters and apologizes for her behavior in the '60s, saying she didn't think and she didn't know what she was doing. It seemed pretty calculated, and that's the sort of thing I can't stand. She could have said, look, I was young, I felt very passionately about the war, in looking back I probably wasn't being realistic. I know some people resented my opinions, but that's how I felt at the time. That's more honest than waiting twenty-plus years until some town says they can't stand Hanoi Jane and then apologizing. I guess it all depends on how you handle it and how controversial a figure you are.

Well, you should try to get your facts straight but I do hear your point.

For the record though, Jane Fonda was associating/aligning herself (both physically when visiting Hanoi, and in comments to US media and soldiers directly via radio) with communist North Vietnamese. There's a reason we didn't like her. Check it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_Fonda#...

As far as the Dixie Chicks, their audience here is like 95% war monging red neck, aka one big herd of sheep. It's really not that big of a group of people, but their fans are embraced by the political/economic powers here in the US because they are exorbitant consumers, they follow what they think is the most popular course of action, even if it's changed over the years, and they are honest hard working tax paying slaves. The Dixie Chicks evolved, their audience didn't. That segment of the population are still driving around with "God Bless The USA" on their bumpers, driving 8 cylinder vehicles with giant off-road tires, and a gun rack in the back window. Provided they have money for beer on friday night, they will ..."back ole' GW cuz he went after those terrorists when we were down on our luck after that there 911." We're talkin lowest common denominator of the Hee-Haw kind. They might represent 3-5% of Americans in general.

But I think today's celebrities on today's war are full of crap. They want to go back to the UN and fool around with sanctions and all this other junk, when frankly, we have PLENTY of oil in Alaska that we are barely tapping right now, and we have plenty of border that needs protecting, and we have plenty of security that needs enforcing right here at home.

Today's celebrities, although against the war, still want to continue to be the worlds babysitter, they just want to do it with money and bargaining as opposed to guns and nation destroying, er I mean building! We need to just stop the whole notion that we have the right to go marching around the world telling people what they should be doing!

Assuming celebrities don't think is a smart move... Bravo! THEY DON'T! They are well trained parrots, repeating what they've memorized! They are hired for their looks, their emotional control, and their ability to memorize little entertaining but totally superfluous stories.

Back when cinema was first getting started here in Hollywood, acting was a pauper's career. If you were an actor, you might as well be a janitor or something... (no offense janitors, you do great work I mean it!). But it was certainly not a career choice that garnered any kind of respect or tilted ear.

When it comes to admitting or telling the truth about the war. Liberals will not fess up to being against it, if there is some personal gain evolved. Celebrities love attention and are essentially narcissistic in character. Their fan base keeps them in business, and keeps them rich.

I think that not all are like that, but if they want to be accepted and invited to all the parties, then they had better get with the liberal program. Their next part may depend upon it.

I have no special contempt for them, but I wish that they could sometimes tell the truth, instead of reading scripts from teleprompters.

the should keep their idiotic opinions to themselves dont tell the world cuz almost everyone doesnt care
