She made this statement because early in her career she was mistaken for Latina a lot of times and she felt that she needed to tell everyone that she was not in fact, Latina.
She made that statement because people say she looks Latina for her bronze complection and blue eyes.
OK first, Perez Hilton gave her that title. And it's because he doesn't like her, but he is referring to her saying how she feels white, because she was raised around white people and no one in her family even speaks Spanish.
