Heath Ledger Picketers that say he is in hell need to burn! Agree?!
Question: First of all. People who say this especially at a time of mourning are so screwed up. Why are there people like this? WHY? I do not go to church anymore because I’m surrounded by people like this. Yes there is good in religion but when it gets out of hand like this its ridiculous. yes, the westboro baptist church is well... for a lack of a better word, a piece of s***. no matter what a person did during their time alive, you never say something like that when they die. especially when heath ledger did nothing bad. they base their hate for him on the fact that he portrayed a gay man on brokeback mountain. though he wasn't gay himself. so for that, according to them, he needs to burn in hell.
what kinda bs is that?! they are really crazy. like insane, need to go help, crazy people. they are sick and evil. after this whole heath ledger incident i started reading up on them and read all of their slogans. they've come up with things such as; thank god for dead soldiers, thank god for 9/11, thank god for hurricane katrina, thank god for the california wildfires.
they talk about how all of america except for them is going to hell, when really, most of america is not going around hating on gay people and thanking god for the deaths of innocent people. they really are the ones that will burn in hell.
I think because of the way he died people think he commited suicide and of course that is a sin in religion so they might be saying those kind of things because they think thats how he died . i dont agree with it though
First and foremost, it is not anyone's right or privilege to judge anyone else. that is God's job. I do agree that there are many radicals in every organization, even in church. But I don't think you should judge every religious organization on a few bad experiences. People who say and do these things you are talking about are either very mentally unstable or they just don't have a better cause to support. There are so many other worth-while things they could voice their opinions on. That's the best I can do! Good Luck!

That is the reason that I do not practice my religion the way I used to. It seems to me that the people that claim to be "so religious" are the ones that are the first to throw the proverbial stone. Some of these "religious" people are the biggest phonies I have ever met. They have absolutely no compassion to say things like this. If they were so religious-they would be praying for his soul.
I think that you shouldn't let it bother you. Yes, religious people can sometimes get carried away, but definitely so can the non-religious, or anti-religious. Look at this board. I rest my case.
What you need to do is take religion seriously, but personally. Your relationship with God is personal and should stay that way. If you hold the teachings dear to you, then they will show in your actions. Christ taught that we should keep the commandments without wearing our religion on our sleeve, like the hypocrites who disfigure their face when they are fasting. That's pretty funny, and you should just keep it at that. Don't hate on people for living their religion, just keep yours to yourself.
Don't starve yourself of a great relationship with God because other people worship differently than you. It's a personal thing and shouldn't be blown up to be more than that.
I agree with you. It's bad enough that the family is mourning someone they love without having to put up with crap like that. As for why they were saying he is in hell, that's just ridiculous. I thought that the other day when I read a newspaper article about it. Heath was an actor and that is what he was doing in Brokeback Mountain... ACTING!! It was his job. Does that mean all of the actors who portray murderers, rapists, etc. are going to burn in hell, too? Give me a break. And if those people are so religious, they should know that is not how God would want them to act. I agree that people have a right to their own opinions, but they should really use their common sense and show a little respect to Heath's family, instead of making a scene at a funeral/memorial service. It makes me sick.
These are probably the same people that would say that someone who becomes a bigger inmate's punk in prison is destined to go to hell for committing homosexual acts...even when it's forced. Go figure...
This is why I hate the church: these people say Heath should burn in hell? These are the same hypocrites that preach God this and that, when they are the REAL criminals of our nation. Heath Ledger will always be with us but still, these church people need to get a life and face their own problems at hand. People who are our priests are the biggest liars, money scammers, computer hackers, deviant pedophiles and treacherous numbskulls.
I saw those people on the news the other day. They made me sick... swanning around with those banners & boards declaring that Heath's going to hell... that's bad enough, at a time when his family and friends are in mourning and their loss is still very raw...
But what really made me mad was the GLEE these people had. They were soooo smug. Heath Ledger's going to Hell, and we're not, so there ... & you had better change your ways and become just like us otherwise you're going to Hell, too.
