On the other hand, Zoey 101 is set to remain on the air despite the controversy. According to Nickelodeon executive vice president of corporate communications Dan Martinsen, the network has not changed its plans to premiere the fourth and final season of Zoey 101 next month since the fourth season has already been filmed. Martinsen, however, would not comment on the network's complaints from concerned parents or kids about the show.
Dr. Robert Thompson, founding director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture at Syracuse University, says that pulling the plug on the show would just attract more attention to Spears' situation, especially with young children who are fans of the show and aren't aware of its star's personal life.
"They [Nickelodeon] have two options, they could keep it on the front burner and make people - who otherwise would not have noticed - pay attention," Thompson said. "Or they could just make the assumption that some kids might have heard a little bit about it, but a lot of little kids don't read People magazine."

New York, Dec 23 (ANI): Nickelodeon has decided to continue with Jamie-Lynn Spears starrer show 'Zoey 101' for the time being, killing speculations of pulling it off the air after the 16-year-old recently disclosed the news of her pregnancy.
Ever since Jamie Lynn announced her pregnancy, speculation has swirled about the future of the teenager's hit show, but the network stated with certainty that the show will go on, at least for now.
When asked about the show's future, its network spokeswoman Marianne Romano said that they have not announced any changes in schedule of the shows for the time being.
Nickelodeon hasn't announced any schedule changes, the New York Post quoted Romano, as saying.
However, it is clear by all accounts that the network will be relying on the reaction of the show's fans, and advertisers, before a final decision is made.
The fourth season of the show has already been entirely shot, and there were no plans to shoot any further episodes, even before the teen star's announcement.
Meanwhile, the network is planning to screen a Nick News teen pregnancy special hosted by Linda Ellerbee. (ANI)

Yes, she's back even with the pragnancy. She did not get an abortion...she says she's going to keep the baby but after he or she is born, she will give he or she to her mom to take care of so she can focus on her career. =]
