Was Heath Ledger becoming a "rising star" before his sudden death?!

Question: I think Heath Ledger was a less dark version of Johnny Depp. He didn't stick to roles that just required him to look good. He was a great actor and had a lot of talent and I think if he had the opportunity to have a 30 year career he could have been one of the great actors of our time. I am very sad to think of all that talent gone and we will never get to see it manifested

he was already a star. DUH

Yes. He was already noted by the acting community and nominated for an Oscar for his role in Brokeback Mountain. He just finished filming the new Batman movie in which he played the Joker. I'm sure that role would have introduced him to a larger audience and opened more doors for him.

I think he was a known entity already-- "rising star" might not be the term because people already knew well of him, and the rolls he was choosing stopped him from being a "star" but more of a "known actor"-- for "star" I always think these big heartthrobs...

But who knows... maybe I'm out of touch!

Yes he was He had a Big Box Office Movie coming out in Theaters "Dark Knight", and he was Nominated for his role in "Brokeback Mountian" which wasa Good Movie wished he actually won, but Now we are mourning his death for someone like Jimi Hendrix, River Phoenix, John Belushi, Etc, Etc Etc, Now Heath Ledger is in a Better Place right now R.I.P.

def. he was already a star in my book, but he was also an up and coming producer

he was already a big star and a VERY talented actor. it's just that he wasn't one of those people who liked to shine in the hollywood spotlight. i think that's why some many people respected him and why so many are mourning his tragic death. he was a humble actor who carefully chose all his roles. he didn't act in just any for the money or publicity. everyone saw him as a down to earth guy, which is why he will be greatly missed by all.

no
i always thought he was popular enough
he was so HOT! i was so upset about his loss
