Heath Ledger fans??!

Question: I do not intend to sound mean and thoughtlless, but it is going to come out that way. I am curious though, where were all you "fans" when he was living? While he was living, I do not recall one question about him. Now that he is dead, his "fan" base has multiplied. Again, I am not trying to be mean, but am only asking "where were you when he was alive"?

I think everyone WAS there before - let's face it, a lot of his movies were commercial hits. There wasn't a lot of talk about him in celebrity forums because he led a good, low-key life. I think he was well-respected as an actor and as a person. If you would have asked me one week ago what I thought of Heath Ledger, I would have said "Great actor, seems like a really nice guy, a good dad, someone I'd like to know."

But people seem to be more "fan-like" (for lack of a better term) now not because it's jumping on the bandwagon, but because they realize that he WAS talented, he WAS a good guy, and the fact that he is no longer with us - and at such a young age - so tragic and sad.

I understand you mean no disrespect. It's a good question.

i was alive too.

There were questions about him while he was living, if you go to your advanced search here on Y!A and type in "Heath Ledger" and choose for question asked more than 90 days ago (which was way before his death) you'll find plenty of them (over 300 to be exact). We are only reaching out more than ever now because we are shocked at his early and tragic death, he always had fans though and that's why so many people are mourning him.

I was admiring his movies like A Knight's Tale, being a fan does not only mean asking questions here in y! a, because the fact is when he was alive He was a good role model and definitely someone to look up to so there is no controversy about him that should be spoken of here.
But I get what you mean bro that someone suddenly becomes a fan and feels sorry. Well I really hope that they are sincere in what they say. God Bless his family, RIP Heath...

I've been a fan of his since 10 Things I Hate About You....I was completely shocked at his death...but I for one dont ask questions about celebrities...what they do is their business...I really think hollywood movies are losing a great actor that had so much potential for so many different roles...

he will be missed by many...and the person I feel sorry for the most is his daughter..that poor little girl is so young and will likely not remember her father

I was a fan before too, I thought he was a good actor and he will be missed.

I was busy watching his movies and doing fansy kinds of things! But when he died, everyone had the "WHAT?!?!?!?!" reaction and REALLY came out because it was such a shocker. We've been there the whole time. RIP, Heath.

He wasn't in trouble. He didn't have problems. No stalkers, and I don't care about a rolled up $20 bill - I'll bet he didn't do drugs. Do you know why the tabloids are covered with Britney & Amy Whinehouse? They've got HUGE ISSUES. He was a good guy and fans or tabloids don't find that interesting. And like it or not, death makes news.

the fans never left .. they never changed their minds about him, but this has opened their eyes more to show that they care.

but yeah its sad that hes gone

rip!!

I've always been interested about Heath ever since I first watched Roar. I have all of his films and have collected them throughout the years. I also c-own a fansite that I have had up and running for three years that has been dedicated to Heath.

Preach it...
