What do you think has been the most shocking celeb passing in recent years?!
Question: Im not one to buy gossip mags or plaster my walls with pictures of cute actors but you cant help but feel awful when a person so public passes away. I am perticulaly sad and definitely shocked by Heath Legders death. You are sad for people like Anna Nicole Smith or Kurt Kobain but they were so obviously hurting and abusing drugs. So the death is tragic but not as shocking. I think Heath Ledgers death has stunned so many people b/c us normal folks never saw it coming. What do you think has been the most shocking and why?

For me, the only celebrity deaths that have affected me so far in my short life were:
1) John Ritter, that was just so sudden and he was still so young and such a nice and down to earth guy. I still remember the day it happened like it was yesterday, I was completely shocked and depressed for like a week because I had spent the previous summer watching Three's Company every night on TV Land and had become quite a fan of the fellow, plus he also left behind a young daughter.
2) Christopher Reeves, even though he had been sick for awhile it was still extremely sad for me because I grew up watching his Superman movies and I felt terrible for his son (who is my younger brother's age).
3) Steve Irwin because my brother and I used to be fans of him and his show. I myself am a huge animal lover so I admired what he did for the animal movement and all the animal knowledge he raised.
4) Heath Ledger, words cannot express how sad I was when the news of his death broke out, me and my brother were both fans of him because he was such a great actor, one of the few great actors of our times. He seemed like such a sweet and normal guy and this could not have happened to a nicer celebrity.

I would go with either Steve Irwin or Evel Knievel. I guess Evel isn't as shocking because, well he was old and everything, and he was in pretty bad shape from all those stunts he did over the years.
Steve Irwin, though, was so sudden, and he was too young. I think everyone felt it when he passed.
definitely Anna Nicole's. I remember watching TV in my room when I heard in the other room the breaking news that she had passed. It sent chills up my spine.

the most shocking celeb passing in recent years goes to Steve Irwin hands down. his life actually had meaning, sorry to all of you anna nicole lovers, but she was screwed up from top to bottom... and she really wasn't good at anything or didn't make a contribution to society. heath ledgers death is a tragedy, he was a talented actor... Evil Knevil was an old man, it's not shocking. may God be with you Steve Irwin.
Usually when I hear of a celebrity passing I don't give it much thought but I have to admit that Heath Ledger's death is very sad. My jaw dropped when I heard the news. It was completely unexpected. I actually thought that I heard the name wrong until it was mentioned a second time. You usually expect something like that from the ones who are always in the spotlight. He seemed to be very private and his career was just taking off. This is the first time that I am actually interested in learning what happened. Heath was way too young. He was only four years older than me.

he was my favorite actor, and 1 week ago i was watching videos on him on youtube, i got a heath movie for christmas (10 things ....) and watched it over and over, his looks played a part in me watching it so much;]
and also his movies, all of them were great, he wasnt in the media alot, really never. and its totally shocking and i cried even about it.

I was Shocked when Princess Diana died! And John Kennedy Jr. also. It must be very hard to be under a 24 hour a day Microscope. And it hurts me when you can feel their pain and need. And people around them make no attempt to help them they just say that's just the way they are! Go partying with them etc... they just accept it that way. Unfortunately i didn't know much about Mr. Legders. I saw Brokeback but none of his other movies. You are in my thoughts for CARING.
