With Heath Ledger's death does anybody notice that..?!

Question: it seems that the media wants it to appear that he was a drug user? That 20 dollar bill found rolled up was tested and it came up clean to me it seems like the media is dissapointed that its just not a nother hollywood fast lane death?

There is that papparazzi gawking wanting it to be another celebrity train wreck thing, but I think there may actually be something a bit more sinister here if you dig deeper.

The other night I was watching TV and started noticing how many of the commercials were for prescription drugs, so then my husband and I started counting them. We counted more than 20 in about 1-2 hours of TV (can't remember the channel for sure but it was a major network I'm pretty sure.)

Pills such as Ambien, several blood pressure meds, Cialis, brith control, etc.,etc.

Maybe I'm reaching here, but if the drug companies are sponsoring the TV media, is it really a good idea for them to report this as a prescription med overdose since that could likely happen to anybody in this pharmaceutical obsessed society that they are actually promoting with all the commercials? Something to think about.

But I promise you that in the decision-making offices of all news shows, there are folks who look at what their "spin" should be in light of their own agenda. There are lots of things that happen every day that we never hear about because the powers that be have decided they don't want us to have that "news", and meanwhile they bombard us with the stories they want us to hear slanted the way they want us to view them.

Yeah, I noticed that when they kept mentioning that.

Who says money is the root of all evil? The Media gives it a run for it's money!

i agree, they are all quick to assume he was a drug abuser, people dont realize that young people can die of other things as well.

I'll wait for a conclusive autopsy.

28 year-olds don't typically keel over for no reason.

dude the drugs found were not illegal so chill man..
he was a guud man

To think there might be more important issues facing us today like the war in Iraq/Afghanistan, the economy, global warming, etc.........yet we are enraptured by the death of a minor celebrity.

We are all doomed.

yeah i saw that on e-news last night. i was like WTF does that have anything to do with his death.
they just pointed out the most random thing, for not reason!
the media can be so messed up sometimes. i mean they were all "its so sad" "we are very sorry for his friends and family! "OH and the rolled up 20 dollar bill next to him was tested and had no drug residue on it! "
messed up stuff right there!

The media will pick up any little bit of dirt and run with it and make a big scandel....That is how they make their money. It is sad but true.................

yeah i know what you mean i think their doing it because its something new no one expected. There sick of talking about britiney spears and lyndsey lohan so they decided they can talk about something else so ppl dont get sick of watching them. Some ppl in the media are sick people and just like to blow things over porportion. I feel bad for his family and friends and i hope it comes out that he wasnt a drug user it was an accident.

I know those people really need to get a life but him dying is really sad:(

Yea the media has been getting on my nerves over his death, they want to add the Hollywood touch to it and it's annoying, I was watching The Insider yesterday because they were covering his death and they kept mentioning that Ledger got too into his role as the psychotic clown The Joker and that's why he died, it pissed me off so much when they said that that I had to turn off the TV. I don't know why the media is doing that, it's not like his death wasn't tragic enough as it is, the poor guy and his poor daughter.

i noticed to i thought that he was a brill actor.he would be one of the people that i thought that would never in a million years use drugs

Death by drugs headlines sell more newspapers and trashy celebrity magazines than death by natural causes.

It's getting annoying that the media are running with this before there's any conclusive proof.

yea that is true. thats wrong because he didnt die from overdose on drugs, it was from sleeping pills! so they need to put a stop to this .. hes dead, let him rest in peace!

yes, even though no one knows what caused his death or have evidence of anything,
this morning they said they did not actually find anything on the $20...now... thats interesting... yeterday it had drugs on it, today it does not

We have all these news channels and they need fodder for the machine, so any little tidbit of "new" information is gobbled up and spit out for our consumption. I even heard a reference to him being like a James Dean. Which is funny to me, because although I know who Heath Ledger was, and have seen a couple of his films, in no way did I consider him a major star. Perhaps he had that ahead of him, who knows.

The media always wants to look for the worst in people. Bad things equal more headlines. More headlines equal more people interested in their topics. There were no illegal substances found. All of Heath's meds were perscribed to him.

Yes, it always seems that when a celebrity dies, and especially a young person, the media wants some kind of scandal. And if they don't get it truthfully, someone will be glad to make one up. So I'm sure the tabloids will find some kind of scandal involved, even though their probably isn't one. He just took some legal drugs in a combination that killed him. It's an accident.

The media is absolutely ridiculous. They try to put a negative spin on everything.
They forget about the fact that his 2 year old daughter has to grow up w/out her father, or that such a very talented young man is gone.
All they are worried about is if he was doing drugs? If he was it was probably due to all the stress celebs have to endure day in and day out. Now I am in no way excusing any drugged out celebs, but come on lets focus on the positive things this young has done.

They just want to make it sound like that everyone is into drugs in Hollywood.
Its an accidental death (that I've heard so far). He just took too many sleeping pills...all the man wanted was sleep. Let him rest in peace. I can't believe all the bull**** that is going on with his story and life. The whole...."he died because he was ashamed to play a gay cowboy" its so ridiculous!

He was a good actor!!!! God bless his family!

The reason the $20 was clean is because he licked the drug residue off the bill after he snorted.
