What do you suppose was the cause of Heath Ledger's death?!
Question: suicide or accidental overdose?
I read an article published a few months ago in which he said he had a hard time sleeping so he would take a few sleeping pills at the same time. He was also suffering from pneumonia. Considering sleeping pills and other prescription medication (which I’m guessing was for pneumonia) were found near him, I personally believe he accidentally overdosed.

I think it was accidental. He was extremely sleep deprived, which can make you loopy/dizzy/etc, and he probably just wanted to sleep when he arrived in NYC yesterday. He had a bad cold (not sure if a doc confirmed it was pneumonia), and has been taking Rx Ambien for a couple months, although he mentioned he needs more than that to sleep more than an hour or so. He probably bought more over-the-counter sleep pills when he was up this morning, or still had some at his place. Took some for a nap before massage, and with whatever he took last night, the tylenol in the over-the-counter caused his death.

i believe he got fed up, took to many pills thinking ok whatever this won't do anything harmful. and overdosed.
or got fed up overdosed on purpose and died.
I'm guessing it was accidental. This guy had alot going for him.
It wasn't suicide - he was about to have a movie released where he was the Joker. The freaking Joker.
I think it's none of your business to talk about. Respect him and his memory and don't sensationalize it. Please--for the love. Have some respect.

Idk. He was alive and well 3 hours prior to his death. And he knows he is up for a massage he scheduled. I feel like it is accidental more than anything. Only God knows what is going on. All we can do is pray. I will miss his acting, definitely.

Sucidal or accidental. if sucidal it could be from what i hear he hasn't slept since he filmed the Dark knight because of hsi character's sociopathic personality and an other movie he just wrapped up too. Also maybe his break up with Michelle Williams because I think he truly loved her so much and I deep down think she loved. It's so sad.
I think he tried to "sleepaway" his depression and died in the process.

It's hard to say really. I could see an accidental overdose on the medications but being that he broke up with Michelle Williams a little while ago (with whom he has a child with), you can't really rule out the possibility of suicide completely. (similar to Owen Wilson, everyone was shocked at his suicide attempt, Ledger could shock us too) Until we know for sure, there's really no guessing what happened It could go either way on this matter.
It was probably an accidental drug overdose. How tragic!
I hope that it was accidental!!!! I cant imagine him wanting to do that to himself. Whatever it is... i hope that everyone can learn from him.... Even freaking britney spears!!!!
I'd say accidental because he was having a hard time sleeping and he would only sleep 2 hours a day.
i agree...it was probably accidental.
No one will ever know for sure. I had the pleasure of treating him twice when they filmed Brokeback in Alberta. He was pleasant, funny and healthy. He had one minor injury from a horse incident and the flu the other time. He wasn't depressed, or high or anything and he liked being in Alberta as no one noticed him. It is a shame. He was a young, talented young man but if depression got him, it got him. It just proves that money, success and fame will not make a person happy.
I hope it wasn't suicidal, but who knows. He could have been depressed despite having a successful career, committed suicide like Charmaine Dragun.
Whether it was accidental or suicide it is not up to us to judge. He was good man. R.I.P
