Taylor Hicks, what happened?!
Question: I think I mighta heard his contract got cancelled...is this the case? I have not seen or heard of him lately. Kelly, Carrie, and Clay seem to have done the best. What about that Ruben guy? Some of the winners don't even do as good as the runner ups it seems.

Taylor Hicks was a novelty act. People voted for him because he was different, had graying hair, was a fun loving guy, etc. They didn't vote for him because his voice was spectacular. When his album finally came out, no one bought it because it was a terrible album.
This seems to happen quite a lot with American Idol. It seems like people vote based on personality, not necessarily talent. That is why a lot of the times the runners up do better, because they are better singers, put out better albums, etc. Also of note, the singers who don't win have a lot more artistic freedom on their albums, they aren't just put through the American Idol machine.
I heard that after his album he and American Idol people got into a fight.... & now nobody knows!
Ruben does christian music now! Clay hasnt done one of the best he had 15 minutes of fame wat about Chris Daughtry, Josh Grasin( he does a lot of good country songs) Kelly pickler, even bucky cuventin has two good songs out rite now! Taylor sucked i cant stand him i dont know how he won!

he has faded into the past ..i was a big fan but he just don't compare to daughtry ..i hope he can still make it big in the future
