Why is it in American films the English actors always get the baddy roles?!

Question: Just curious

Answers: Just curious

It is a much more difficult prospect to play a baddie in film than a goody.
Hence, most British actors are far more acclaimed than Americans and give a much more convincing potrayal as a baddie than any American actor ever could.

Cos we are all EVIL!!!!

Or the Germans, all the die hard movies. I guess because if they pick muslims they will be called racist

Because they are better actors and not dolled up publicity seeking pimps

Because the English are better actors.

cause we can do bad better, in fact we can do everything better than the Americans. period

they hate us and thats what they see us as in real life

not always! i mean look at james bond! :D

Is it because we is evil.

no one can understand a word they're saying so might as well giv'em a gun.........a big gun and a fast loud car

Really, maybe they are very good at being bad.:)

not always the case...
English are better actors??
idk

Same question for bald guys?

Because they know we are better than them so they need us to look bad... He He...
It's because we are obviously better at playing the baddies...
I think it is in the accent (cause most british baddies usually very well spoken and v.posh)

Because an English accent sounds educated and refined. Smart sophisticated villains are the most evil.

And the only actors they ever seem to use are Alan Rickman or Christopher Cazenove

That's not true. This is an prime example of overgeneralization. I don't feel like looking up the numbers, but I can assure you, there are American movies that have English actors portraying "goodies"!

They either get the baddy roles or give the English part to an American with a very baddy English accent

because a posh, educated villain like the actor who portrayed hannibal lector,is preferable to some inarticulate thug.ralph fiennes is a lovely villain-so urbane and articulate one has a certain attraction to his charactor, even as a baddie.it leads to nuanced performances.just look at the old ,BBC "I,claudius" series from the 70's-it featured the best villains ever played.its a compliment, the british do villains so well, one rather likes them, even as one is appalled-and that is so much more thrilling than merely feeling repulsed.

do they ?

because us brits are better actors anyone can be a good guy

Eh excuse me not only English but Scottish too....

Answer

Because we are harder!!!

A lot of Hollywood actors are afraid to play the baddies in a film because of their reputations. They tend to want to keep their images clean cut.

Plus, perhaps Americans are easily intimidated by us Brits?

Because they've got bad teeth and bad accents to go with the bad teeth. Roit?
