The definition of "celebrity" basically requires that you get more attention than others. So in some way, they choose the lifestyle.
But Brad Pitt once had a good point: his kids will never know what it's like to walk down the street without cameras following them. They'll grow up thinking that's normal -- and they *didn't* choose the lifestyle.
In other words, celebrities often deserve the attention they get, but sometimes the media should exercise better judgment and consider the effects of their actions.

I know, they chose that lifestyle they surely know what's gonna happen to them, It must be a pain in the a** tho having people follow you around etc no wonder Britney's ended up the way she is, although I think she thrives on it a bit 2 which is sad...I'd love to have the money & the success, but not too sure fame is worth it coz how can you ever go back to a "normal" life?
Media celebs like Posh Spice deserve everything they get.You can't have media coverage as and when you please. It's all or nothing.Other celebs go to work in the morning,do their job then go home and don't crave fame 24/7.These should be allowed some privicy.

I think normal celebrities should be allowed normal lives, as they are just trying to do their job like any other person. But then there are the abnormal ones who are just asking for it, you know?
No, there's got to be some payback for the obscene amounts of money they are paid (note the use of the word 'paid' rather than 'earn').

yes they should, they are no different then us, we all get dressed the same way, use the restroom the same way, eat the same way the only difference is they have a lot more money then we do. They should all know that they will always be in the public eye no matter what they do good or bad it will end up in the news. but their private life should be kept just that private, would you want all your dirty laundry out for the world to know about? In a weird way I kinda feel sorry for them because they cannot even have a private moment without the world knowing about it, I know I'd not want to live like that.
