Well first off, I am not just a fan of Michael Jackson. He is ONE of my idols, but he is not the ONLY one. Being that I want to act, not sing, my real idol is Johnny Depp. Funny that he's not even my number one actor, but I look up to him for what he has done in his acting career.
However, when it comes to almost anything else in my life, I look up to MJ. In any other aspect of my life: singing, being a better person, helping others, dancing, having a good or bad day, etc... I always find myself asking: "what would Michael do?"
But you asked what kind of a fan are you to choose someone else over your idol. In my career, I do, I choose Johnny Depp, not because Michael Jackson isn't a good actor (because he's awesome) but that's not his thing compared to JD, and Johnny Depp in my opinion is the BEST actor out there, there is no one else better for me to look up to than him. It doesn't mean that I'm NOT a fan of Michael Jackson, it doesn't even mean that I AM a fan of Johnny Depp, I just give credit to where it is deserved to be, that's all.

You can be a fan of something, it just means you like it not that you worship it and love everything it does. I love the Jackson 5's ABC's song, and hate Michael.

I am a true fan of MJ. I'm guessing you're referring to the question : 'Who is more famous: Michael Jackson or Mickey Mouse?' I only answered Mickey Mouse because that's the truth. It doesn't mean I like Mickey more than Michael, Mickey Mouse isn't even a real person! I love Michael Joseph Jackson with all my heart, he is my hero and always will be. x
